Public Opinion as the 43rd Deputy
There is the so-called "43rd deputy", i.e. public opinion, which is studied through public opinion polls on the most important issues on the web-site of the State Duma of Tomsk Oblast. It is supposed to help the deputies outline priorities, highlight the key points in their lawmaking activity.
The project enjoys participation of experts in various fields of knowledge and activity. The team consists of about 60 people. The subject-matters of surveys are elaborated by leading specialists in this field, namely sociologists and political scientists of Tomsk State University. University.
Examples of surveys conducted in the framework of the project:
- Medical service of students;
- "Dog's life" (domestic animals in urban environment, stray dogs);
- "Do we need a new nuclear power plant?".
