Russian senators took part in the VII Forum of the World Tourism Organization

In Puerto Vallarta (Mexico) the Federation Council took part in the VII International Forum for representatives of local authorities and members of parliament involved in tourism. The delegation was headed by Vladimir Zhidkikh, Chairman of the Federation Council Commission for Youth and Tourism, representative of the Tomsk Oblast State Duma in the Federation Council.

For the first time have the Federation Council members partaken in the events sponsored by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) as the leading international organization in tourism and traveling.

During their visit the Federation Council members stood in the Forum debates, studied the experience of Mexico and other countries in development of tourism industry.

“Russia arouses great interest among our foreign colleagues. We held a few productive meetings, where we exchanged opinions and covered prospects of inter-parliamentary cooperation in tourism”, said Vladimir Zhidkikh.

According to Vladimir Zhidkikh, in the XXI century tourism has firmly settled in many countries as the primary economy domain with the most rapid development. “Development of tourism induces enormous investment inflow to the infrastructure, affects the quality of living both of the community and tourists. Whereas the international relations and personal friendly terms developed during the tourist exchange is an important factor of improving mutual understanding among the peoples of the world”, emphasized the Federation Council delegation head.
