The Legislative Duma of Tomsk Oblast
September 3, 2010. September 17 Tomsk to host
the Regional Forum “Strategy 2020. Regional View”
Participants: leading Russian experts in economy, politics and journalism.
Four sections are planned at the Forum:
- Our democracy. Mechanisms of interaction between the society and authorities.
- Our new elite. Role and place of medium business.
- Modern culture: Role in regional development.
- Innovations.
Vladimir Ponomarenko, Chairman of the Budgetary and Financial Committee of the Tomsk Oblast State Duma, detailed about the background of the Forum:
“This refers to the federal program “Strategy-2010”. It has been first announced by the President Vladimir Putin at the enlarged session of the State Council in February 2008.”
According to Vladimir Ponomarenko, “it is a matter of great interest to know what Russian experts think of two fundamental documents of Tomsk Oblast such as the Program of Socio-Economic Development of Tomsk Oblast and Tomsk Oblast Development Strategy until 2010. These documents are fundamental for the Oblast budget. Prior to forming the Oblast Budget Law, we would like to know the opinion of the intellectual elite of Russia regarding development plans of our region.”
