Being on a working visit to Tomsk Bettina Klammt, Project Manager of Baden-Wurttemberg International (bw-i), an economic development agency of the state of Baden-Wurttemberg (Germany) visited the Southern Site of Tomsk Special Economic Zone.
Bw-i was established to promote international relations of the state of Baden-Wurttemberg in business, education, and research.
Mrs Klammt arrived to Tomsk to prepare the visit of a business delegation from Baden-Wurttemberg in the fall 2010 with a focus on proposals and comments from both sides and an outlook for a cooperation memorandum.
The state of Baden-Wurttemberg maintains very close economic relations with Russia. It is an absolute leader among German regions in many aspects. Not only is it a developed industrial region (the leader in automotive and machine building industry, electrical engineering, and chemical industry), Baden-Wurttemberg is a world leader in high-tech industries, technology innovations, research, and education.
Mrs Klammt learned about the Special Economic Zone development progress, and visited companies working on innovative projects.
At the meetings the subject of the forthcoming visit of the German delegation was discussed.
