The Legislative Duma of Tomsk Oblast
April 6, 2010. Tomsk City Youth Parliament created The process of creation of Youth Parliaments in municipal entities of Tomsk Oblast goes on.
At one of its sessions the Tomsk City Duma approved regulations on the Youth Parliament of Tomsk City. There are 36 members of the Parliament. They are young people selected in a contest. The Youth Parliament’s key tasks are creation of mechanisms for effective resolution of the youth’s problems, representation of interests of the young at different authority levels, development of youth initiatives.
As the Speaker of the Tomsk Oblast Youth Parliament Vladislav Ilyashenko says,
‘Youth parliaments have been formed in half of the municipal entities of the region. We are consistently working in that direction: we organize educational seminars for the young people from the Oblast districts and cities, support their initiatives, and create an infrastructure for the movement (among other things we provided immediate assistance in launching the web portal newparlament.ru).’
