April 9, 2010. New section on the website of the Tomsk Oblast State Duma –
65th Anniversary of the Victory in World War II The section on the 65th Anniversary of the Victory in World War II (in Russia named as the Great Patriotic War) opened on the Russian page of the website of the Tomsk Oblast State Duma one month prior to the Victory Day. It will work through the whole year of the anniversary.
Currently it contains personal recollections of the deputies about how the war influenced lives of their families. There are pages that contain information on the celebration events which are taking place and will take place in Tomsk and Tomsk Oblast, and the most interesting press releases. Those who are interested in the war history will find a compilation of web links to reference materials, pictures of World War II correspondents, archive audio and video files. Also, a special topic was opened on the forum.
The contents of the section is updated regularly. Currently, rare materials on Tomsk people who brought the Victory Day closer are being prepared for publishing. Many of those manuscripts and drafts have never been published anywhere before.
