The Legislative Duma of Tomsk Oblast
N. Gudantseva, Tomsk Oblast State Duma deputy,
took part in IV Russian-German Youth Parliament (St. Petersburg) The Parliament was gathered as part of VIII Russian-German Public Forum "St. Petersburg Dialogue 2008".
Nellya Gudantseva said that the Parliament united quite different young people of Russia and Germany. To participate at the Parliament the public organizations leaders and authorities representatives involved in the youth activities had been invited. The Parliament main objectives were to analyze the current situation with youth, discuss the most disputable matters and come up with proposals for possible ways to solve the problem. Moreover, the Parliament is a ground for new cooperation projects.
'I don't want to ride before the hounds but I strongly hope for successful implementation of new projects particularly in youth cooperation between Russia and
Germany with Tomsk Oblast participation and in its territory.'
Tomsk Oblast was the easternmost Russian region participating at the Parliament. Besides, Tomsk Oblast was represented by two participants - the second was Irina Brait (leader of Tomsk Regional Public Organization "Russian-German Youth Association "Jugendblick"", and Perm Territory - by four participants. The other Russian regions were represented by one participant each. Surprisingly though was quite different perception of the youth policy in two countries. In Germany, the priority is given to political education of the youth and development of their civil responsibility.
Benefit of such events is obvious. Such exchanges help review our available resources and potential.
