October 10–12, 2008. Tomsk to Host XI Innovation Forum with International Participation
The Tomsk Oblast Administration has been initiating hosting of the Forum for many years. The Forum dates back to 1998 and for ten years it has gained the All-Russian scale.
The main Forum aim is to create an international ground for the open dialogue between federal and regional authorities; business and financial entities regarding mutually beneficial cooperation in the development of regional innovation systems and innovation economy of Russia on the whole.
Year by the Forum has gained considerable support from the federal ministries and authorities, weight in professional circles not only within but also outside Russia.
In 2008 over 1,000 delegates are going to take part in the Forum work, including representatives of specialized associations, large Russian companies and transnational corporations, diplomatic missions of foreign states, heads of investment companies, venture and innovation funds, bank society leaders and leading research experts.
The XI Innovation Forum agenda includes discussion of relevant issues and matters in the course of numerous workshops to be moderated by heads of professional associations and well-known Russian television announcers. Besides, the Investment Session is planned which is going to incorporate presentation of projects for venture investment.
During the Forum the Center for Innovations and Technologies at the Southern Site will be officially opened, as well as the development of the Tomsk SEZ Northern Site will be presented.
Over the Forum it is planned to organize the Exposition and Exchange of Business Contacts to promote direct and research and production contacts between the Forum participants and provide the possibility of prospective cooperation with Russian and foreign companies.
After the official events the Forum guests will be involved in the entertainment program incorporating receptions, concerts, Tomsk sightseeing guided tours.
