Minister of Education Dmitry Livanov approves of the INOTomsk project

Russian Minister of Education and Science Dmitry Livanov came to Tomsk on a two-day visit. He met with the governor Sergey Zhvachkin and discussed joint projects of the region and the Ministry, including a plan to improve competitiveness of the Tomsk National Research Universities – Tomsk State University and Tomsk Polytechnic University which rank among top 15 Russian universities, and setting up a territorial center of innovations INOTomsk.

Dmitry Livanov believes that the INOTomsk project has future despite the tough economic situation in the country. “It is a well-thought and well-developed project. Tomsk has built a unique academic system which is fully charged to move forward – prestigious universities, innovative companies, high tech production facilities, a well-developed school and pre-school education system. Each of those subprojects is important. Each is well-developed and transparent in terms of schedule, participants and resources. If they get implemented, the INOTomsk project will turn into reality as well.”
