Tomsk students to develop a German language website and a tourist guide to Tomsk and Altai
Students from Tomsk and Gorno-Altaisk universities are working on a German language tourist website and a guide to Tomsk and Altai under the project Tomsk-Altai: New Traveling Experience! The initiative runs from March 20 to July 5.
“There is very little information on Tomsk Oblast in the German language, in particular information which appeals to the young. That’s how we came up with this idea. A colleague from Gorno-Altaisk suggested we write a tourist gruide on our two regions,” says the originator of the project lecturer of the Robert Bosch Foundation Nelle Kvekke.
Currently, 12 students from the two regions are taking part in photography and writing workshops. The participants were selected through a contest. Nelle emphasizes that knowledge of German was a key criterion.
Participants are also exploring Tomsk – visiting interesting places, talking to people, gathering information for the tourist guide and the website, taking pictures. In June they will make a trip to Altai Krai.
“The website will be a collection of stories and pictures of the two regions,” says Nelle.
