Tavrida International Youth Forum opened in Crimea
On August 11, in Sevastopol’s Kachinsky District Tavrida 2014 International Youth Forum was solemnly opened. The grand ceremony gathered 1,500 viewers from all corners of the world, among them a delegation of the Tomsk Oblast Youth Parliament.
The ceremony featured a spectacular laser show depicting 33 centuries of Crimea’s history from Tauri and Scythian settlements to the reunification with Russia.
In the official part of the ceremony sponsors of the forum and local and federal public officials gave welcome remarks and read an opening address by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The program of the forum includes lectures on the history of Russia, geopolitics, entrepreneurship, leadership, and journalism. Participants are also offered tours to memorial places of Crimea.
“For the Youth Parliament of Tomsk Oblast Tavrida 2014 offers new cooperation prospects and opportunities for new cross regional and international projects,” says chairman of the Parliament Vladimir Kopyshenko.
“It is an important result for us that four members of our Parliament passed the complicated and demanding selection at once. Participation at the forum gives our delegation a good chance to present ourselves, learn new ideas and practices and better get to know Crimea.”
