Offshoot of Rusnano to open the Center of Positron Emission Tomography (PET Center) in Tomsk
Under the umbrella of U-NOVUS (Forum for young scientists) held in Tomsk on 2-4 April, the Tomsk Oblast Administration, Rusnano Engineering Company – PET Technology and Tomsk Oblast Development Corporation signed an agreement on construction of PET Center in Tomsk.
The project will be implemented as a result of last year agreement between the Governor Sergey Zhvachkin and Anatoly Chubais during XV Tomsk Innovative Forum INNOVUS.
The document was signed by Vice-governor Alexander Fedenev, CEO of PET Technology Yuri Pronin and the Head of the Tomsk Oblast Development Corporation Stanislav Yashchuk.
According to the agreement, PET Technology will construct the Center of Positron Emission Tomography in Tomsk. The Company undertakes to start it up by the end of 2016. The regional authorities undertake to provide the new medical facility of early detection of cancer with access to the utilities and transport infrastructure. Tomsk PET Center will be the first one in Siberia.
"Tomsk Oblast got the right to take part in such important social project on a competitive basis", said Alexander Fedenev. "We comprehend this great responsibility which lay on us. And we by all means will fulfill our obligations as we understand the immense significance of PET Center for Tomsk citizens".
