On August 26, Ludmila Ogorodova, Russian State Duma deputy from Tomsk Oblast, Professor, deputy Chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee on Science and High Technology, was appointed deputy Minister of Education and Science of Russia by Decree of the Prime Minister of Russia. In her new capacity Ludmila Ogorodova will supervise the national science.
Ludmila Ogorodova is a doctor specializing in allergy and clinical immunology with a doctoral degree in medicine. She is an associate member of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences. In summer 2013, Russian President Vladimir Putin appointed her leader of an interagency work group for academic support for engineering activity. She also manages the Medicine of the Future technology platform in Tomsk.
