In September 2014, Tomsk will host the Triple Helix XII International Conference on development of centers for innovations. The Triple Helix theory was devised by professor of Newcastle University Henry Etzkowitz and professor of the University of Amsterdam Loet Leydesdorff. The theory symbolizes a union between government, business and university, with the university playing key role in the trilateral relations which leverage new knowledge, innovations, and economic development. The decision to hold the conference in Tomsk was taken by the Organizing Committee after the IX Conference which took place in July 2011 in California.

“Tomsk has a brilliant future,” says Alexander Uvarov, deputy of the Legislative Duma of Tomsk Oblast, Vice-Rector for Innovative Development and International Affairs of Tosmk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics.

“The decision to hold the Triple Helix International Conference in Tomsk was taken by the Organizing Committee following the results of the Triple Helix IX International Conference in Stanford University, California,” Alexander Uvarov said. “The Conference will gather 500 participants from 50 countries.”
