The Legislative Duma of Tomsk Oblast and Moscow City Duma agreed to cooperate.

Boris Maltsev, Speaker of the Legislative Duma of Tomsk Oblast, and Vladimir Platonov, Chairman of the Moscow City Duma, signed a memorandum of cooperation between the two parliaments. The memorandum provides for expansion of parliamentary relations, exchange of experience and information, and establishment of close business relationships.

Boris Maltsev termed the event as momentous and opening great opportunities for Tomsk Oblast.

“Russia currently has a remarkable situation where complementary to the State Duma and the Federation Council there are 83 parliaments,” said the Chairman of Moscow City Duma. “And each of them is unique in its own way with their own specific features, trades, and experience. Sharing this experience is obviously helpful,” said Mr. Platonov.

Aleksander Semennikov, Chairman of the Moscow City Duma Legislative Commission, said that the memorandum of cooperation would enhance the partnership between the Tomsk and Moscow parliaments.

During the visit Vladimir Platonov and Boris Maltsev took part in the festive events dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Shegarsky District of Tomsk Oblast.
