Results of the Second Oblast Family Reading Competition
held by the Legislative Duma of Tomsk Oblast announced
53 families from 16 districts of the Oblast proceeded to the second round of the competition. Three of them took first three places and five got winner’s certificates in various nominations.
On June 1 the Awarding Ceremony took place in the office building of the Legislative Duma of Tomsk Oblast.
Reading families from Parabelsky, Chainsky, Zyryansky, Verkhneketsky, Bakcharsky, and Kozhevnikovsky Districts, Strezhevoy, and Tomsk attended the ceremony. Librarians of shared library systems who were facilitators at the competition received Letters of Thanks from the Duma.
Duma Speaker Boris Maltsev congratulated the participants and winners and made a point of an important role family reading plays in harmonious development of the individual. The Pivovarovs family from Zyryansky District were announced the winner.
The awarded families thanked the Speaker, the Duma, and the librarians for having organized and held the competition. They expressed their wish to develop and expand the competition, promote family reading traditions, and pay more attention to replenishing library stocks
