Tomsk Innovation Forum INNOVUS-2011 Tomsk Oblast Governor
Viktor Kress announced that in 2012 the forum will gain full international status.
May 27 was the last day of the two-day XIV Tomsk Innovation Forum INNOVUS-2011 where representatives of Russian federal ministries, regional authorities, business circles, along with foreign experts discussed topics within the subject “Innovative Russia – 2020. How to Launch the Knowledge-Based Economy.” The program of the Forum was based on the Strategy for the Innovative Development of the Russian Federation for 2020.
“I asked the representatives of the Ministry of Education if we should continue the effort and start preparations to the XV forum. They unanimously answered, “Definitely. Continue with a thought how to make it international.” Currently, it is officially described as ‘with foreign participation’ and what we should do is make it Tomsk International Innovation Forum,” Viktor Kress said.
Summarizing the results of the forum the Governor pointed out that this year the forum gathered over 3,000 participants, out of them almost 1,300 from other cities and regions. The forum was covered by over 100 journalists, including foreign media representatives.
“All discussion platforms enjoyed overwhelming success. The forum raised a great deal of interest and provoked many interesting questions. However, I believe that the number of questions on innovations will outgrow their number before the forum,” added the Governor.
He also stressed that the forum achieved its main goal – it truly became a platform to bring together people in innovative business.
