March 23-25, 2011. Tomsk Oblast delegation to visit Lorraine (France)
On March 23-25 Tomsk Oblast delegation will pay a visit to Metz (Lorraine, France).
The goal of the visit is to enhance cooperation with Lorraine. For Tomsk Oblast Administration promising areas of cooperation with the French are nuclear medicine, engineering education, and municipal services.
On March 24 Tomsk Oblast delegation will attend the annual conference “Russian and Ukrainian Innovation for Economic Development” organized by Scientific and Technological Cooperation Association for Lorraine (CSTL). One of the workshops will be dedicated to presentations of Tomsk projects for the industrial and scientific community of Lorraine. The program of the visit includes meetings with administrative officials and businessmen of Lorraine, and visits to competitive clusters successfully functioning in the region over the past few years.
Tomsk Oblast was invited to Lorraine as a partner region. Since 2008 the two regions have signed a series of memorandums of cooperation in technology and science. One of those memorandums was signed by Tomsk Oblast Governor

Francois Fillon at the Franco-Russian Intergovernmental Seminar in Rambouillet (France). Since 2009 Tomsk Polytechnic University has hosted the Tomsk-Lorraine Technology Partnership Center for commercialization of Tomsk innovations in cooperation with the French partners.
